PRELUDE

Say hello in the comments and let us know you're worshipping with us today.

Prepare for worship by asking God to help you be aware of his presence.
WELCOME

Towards the end of the service, we'll have a time for sharing joys and concerns and praying for one another. If you are joining us online, use the comments or message us on Facebook or in text to let us know how we can pray with you today, and we'll include those in our prayer time.

Send us email and we'll pray for you privately. Let us know if you also want to be included in our prayer list that goes out by email.
CALL TO WORSHIP
(Bold means everyone speaks together)

Come sing with joy to God who is our strength!
Let us shout with joy to God who gives us life!
God says, "I am the fountain of living water.
You who have wandered far from me, return to me.
You who have gathered close, stay near.”
God is our strength and our life. Let us give thanks with all our hearts!

LIFT EVERY VOICE AND SING
Worship & Rejoice Hymn #729

Verse 1
Lift ev'ry voice and sing
Till earth and heaven ring
Ring with the harmonies of liberty
Let our rejoicing rise
High as the listening skies
Let it resound loud as the rolling sea
Sing a song full of the faith
That the dark past has taught us
Sing a song full of the hope
That the present has brought us
Facing the rising sun of our new day begun
Let us march on till victory is won

Verse 2
Stony the road we trod
Bitter the chastening rod
Felt in the days when hope unborn had died
Yet with a steady beat
Have not our weary feet
Come to the place for which our people sighed
We have come over a way
That with tears has been watered
We have come treading our path
Through the blood of the slaughtered
Out from the gloomy past
Till now we stand at last
Where the white gleam of our bright star is cast

Verse 3
God of our weary years
God of our silent tears
Thou who hast brought us thus far on the way
Thou who hast by Thy might
Led us into the light
Keep us forever in the path we pray
Lest our feet stray from the places
Our God where we met Thee
Lest our hearts drunk with the wine
Of the world we forget Thee
Shadowed beneath Thy hand
May we forever stand
True to our God true to our native land

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
(Bold means everyone speaks together)

Jesus, though you were in very nature God, you did not consider equality with God as something to be used to your own advantage. Instead, you humbled yourself. Lord, you are the ultimate example for us, but we don’t always follow you. Often we seek our own best interests and puff ourselves up with pride. Grant us grace to grow in your likeness and image as we silently confess our sins to you now…

~Silent reflection~

Psalm 103 says The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. … he does not treat us as our sins deserve …For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
Let us rejoice in God’s mercy and grace, knowing that in Jesus Christ we are forgiven. Thanks be to God.

AMAZING GRACE (MY CHAINS ARE GONE)
Chorus
My chains are gone I've been set free
My God my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy rains
Unending love amazing grace

Verse 1
Amazing grace how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now I'm found
Was blind but now I see

Verse 2
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed

Verse 3
The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures

Verse 4
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow
The sun forbear to shine
But God who called me here below
Will be forever mine
Will be forever mine
You are forever mine

YOU ARE GREATER THAN MY HEART
Chorus
How do I know I belong to the truth
How do I know I can put my heart at rest in You
How do I know I belong to Your love
How do I know that my heart will truly know

You are greater than my heart
You are bigger than my mind
You are deeper than my soul
You're the author of my life

You are Lord of all I am
Nothing can drive us apart
I surrender to You oh Lord
You are greater than my heart

Thank You my Lord You're teaching me to love
Thank You my Lord my past is dead and gone
Thank You my Lord You're teaching me how to give
That it goes beyond my words
And You are greater than my heart

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE: JOYS & CONCERNS

THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever.

Amen.

Will you let me be your servant
Let me be as Christ to you
Pray that I might have the grace to
Let you be my servant too

Verse 2
We are pilgrims on a journey
Here together on the road
We are here to help each other
Walk the mile and bear the load

Verse 3
I will hold the Christ-light for you
In the night time of your fear
I will hold my hand out to you
Speak the peace you long to hear

Verse 4
I will weep when you are weeping
When you laugh I'll laugh with you
I will share your joy and sorrow
Till we've seen this journey through

Verse 5
When we sing to God and heaven
We shall find such harmony
Born of all we've known together
Of Christ's love and agony
