BOTTOM LINE: The Kingdom is a bizzaro world.

2. The Kingdom operates differently than I assume.
3. The Kingdom operates differently than religion.
4. The Kingdom doesn't require knowing all the answers.
5. The benefits of the Kingdom are greater than face value.
START TALKING
When have you experienced everything being opposite of what you were used to or what you expected? Maybe it was in another country, or a new job, a new technology. Was it frustrating? Exciting? How long did it take for you to adapt to it, or did you just not adapt because it was too hard to get used to?!

Read John 5:1-2. Why do you think John gives these details? How does this build credibility for the story? How can we use it to help build our faith?
Read John 5:3-6. What do you think the sick man was feeling after 38 years of waiting for a miracle? Why do you think he kept going back after all this time?

Or, if you're honest, have you ever objected to someone's changed life when it didn't seem to fit your religious expectations?
