There is an incredible amount of biblical data where we can observe Jesus’ interactions with crowds. Many scholars believe that Mark is the Gospel of the Crowd b/c they play a disproportionately large role in his story.
Theology of Crowds from Mark:
1. Jesus consistently draws a crowd.
2. Jesus compassionately loves the crowd.
3. Jesus strategically resists the crowd.
4. Jesus courageously defies the crowd.
The way of Jesus is “Never deny God, even if that means denying yourself.” But the way of our age is “Never deny yourself, even if that means denying God.”
The church isn't perfect. We get a lot wrong. But isn’t that what unites us? The fact we all know we get a lot wrong, but one thing we got right is Jesus!
