King David passes the kingdom of Israel on to his son King Solomon.
1 Kings 2:1-3
God did not permit King David to build the Holy Temple. Why?
1 Chronicles 22:8
Shedding blood was in David’s blood.
1 Kings 2:6; 8-9
God said to Solomon, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.”
Solomon’s Response:

Solomon asks God to dwell in this place and honor those who seek Him.
1 Kings 8:31-32
Solomon prays that God would hear when people take a vow at the Temple.
1 Kings 8:33-34
God would hear when His people are defeated.
1 Kings 8:35-40
God would hear in times of plague and famine.
1 Kings 8:41-43
God would hear when a foreigner prays.

God would hear when Israel goes to battle and is made captive by their enemy.
