Have you ever heard of a calling card?
BIG QUESTION: Do you believe that God has a calling on your life?
Memory passage:
Nevertheless, each person should live as a believer in whatever situation the Lord has assigned to them, just as God has called them. 1 Corinthians 7:17

PCC BENEDICTION
May you jump into the arms of Jesus.
And may He push you out into the world.
May you be healed as you participate in the healing of others.
Not because you must, but because you may.
This is why we were born!
May you jump into the arms of Jesus.
And may He push you out into the world.
May you be healed as you participate in the healing of others.
Not because you must, but because you may.
This is why we were born!
Beyond Sunday
During this 9-week series, we will focus on what it means to be called by God. Simply put, we are Ordinary People with Ordinary Callings. We each have an ordinary call that takes a unique shape in a specific place. Our ordinary call is 3-fold: Loving God & others (Connection), making disciples (Multiplication) and healing a broken world (Restoration). The SHAPE it takes is based on our Spiritual gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality and Experiences. The place we find ourselves is where God has positioned us in the world. This week, we reflect on what it means to have a call on our lives.
1. How do you feel about God having a call on your life? Reflect on 1 Corinthians 7:17. In what way does this impact your feelings more or less?
2. God calls each of us to a common 3-fold calling. Review the following below. Which aspects are clear and come natural to you and which need more clarity and are difficult.
--CONNECTION Loving God & Others (Matthew 22:36-40)
--MULTIPLICATION Making Disciples (Matthew 28:18-20)
--RESTORATION Healing A Broken World (Matthew 6:10)
3. Consider how God gives your call a unique SHAPE by reflecting on your Spiritual gifts, Heart’s passion, Abilities, Personality, Experience. What is obvious to you and or what needs more clarity about how you are wired for your calling? (Take the SHAPE inventory linked below if needed.) How have you seen a convergence of these areas supporting your call during a certain season of life?
4. Consider the specific location(s) God has placed you throughout your life. Have you ever owned it as the place God has called you to be? Why or why not? What does this passage (James 4:13-15) say about God locating people?
5. Reflect on this quote by Frederick Buechner stated, “The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.” What are the benefits of living into your call and what are the consequences if you don’t?
6. Write a prayer to God about your calling or recite the one below.
Daily Prayer:
Lord, help me to live into my 3-fold calling (Connection, Multiplication, Restoration), understand my SHAPE, and partner with you in the location you have placed me in this world.
