Synopsis: The true vine, Jesus isn’t just the beginning of life, he is our life. As we abide in Him, He gives us all we need for full, fruitful, meaningful life that glorifies God; the very life we long for.
Take some time later to discuss these questions with family or friends:
1. Is real, fruitful, meaningful life really what you think people long for? How come? What would you say we really want?
2. Why do you think Jesus chose the vine metaphor? How does it help you understand Jesus and your relation to him?
3. Is it possible to love someone without obeying them? Is it possible to obey without love? How is it different with Jesus?
4. How has your understanding of Jesus and the Christian life (namely, abiding) changed due to John 15?
5. Are you connected to the vine? How will you abide this week?
