Romans 12:1
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
DON’T REDUCE THE WORSHIP OF AN ALMIGHTY, INFINITE, CREATOR God to your ABILITIES, PREFERENCES, COMFORT LEVEL, OR FEELINGS.
2 Samuel 4:4
(Saul’s son Jonathan had a son named Mephibosheth, who was crippled as a child. He was five years old when the report came from Jezreel that Saul and Jonathan had been killed in battle. When the child’s nurse heard the news, she picked him up and fled. But as she hurried away, she dropped him, and he became crippled.)
2 Samuel 9:1
One day David asked, “Is anyone in Saul’s family still alive—anyone to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”
2 Samuel 9:3-4
…“Yes, one of Jonathan’s sons is still alive. He is crippled in both feet.”
“Where is he?” the king asked….
2 Samuel 9:7-8
“Don’t be afraid!” David said. “I intend to show kindness to you because of my promise to your father, Jonathan. I will give you all the property that once belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will eat here with me at the king’s table!” Mephibosheth bowed respectfully and exclaimed, “Who is your servant, that you should show such kindness to a dead dog like me?”
2 Samuel 9:13
And Mephibosheth, who was crippled in both feet, lived in Jerusalem and ate regularly at the king’s table.
1) BECAUSE OF WHAT JESUS HAS DONE, I HAVE A SEAT AT THE TABLE.
…. “Don’t be afraid!” David said. “I intend to show kindness to you because of my promise to your father, Jonathan. I will give you all the property that once belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will eat here with me at the king’s table!”
Romans 5:1-2
Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.
2) BECAUSE OF WHAT JESUS HAS DONE, I HAVE A NEW IDENTITY
1 Corinthans 12:27"
All of you together are the one body of Christ and each of you is a separate and necessary part of it."
Mark 10:42-45
So Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
