Use this space to take your general notes during the message.
We've all experienced times we've made bone-headed decisions and had to deal with the consequences. Share an example with your group members (it's always good to be able to laugh at ourselves!).
Following Jesus in our seasons of "in between" is more than just a bumper sticker cliche. In order to live beyond a mere "faith formula", we must broaden our perspective. When we keep our focus on our eternal reward with Jesus, we can find peace in knowing that every right thing we do to honor Him will be worth it. Discuss the benefits of this perspective (in the near and far), especially if you've already personally experienced this.
What can we learn from the Giants of Faith as described in the following passage?

Hebrews 11:13-16

How might the following passage offer us encouragement when we are feeling weary of waiting?

Galatians 6:9

Pastor Jonathan shared three motivations for following Jesus. Discuss each, including what other areas of our lives (such as marriage, parenting, work, etc.) would look like if we applied such motivations.

Motivation: Avoid negative consequences (hell)
Motivation: Blessings (get what I want)
Motivation: Love (not "so that", but "because of")
Discuss the following passages. How do they compel Love as a motivator?

1 John 4:19

2 Corinthians 5:14-15

Romans 12:1

We can thrive "in between", not merely survive. We must be faithful to do right; be motivated by love; and trust God with the reward. How do the following scriptures support this?

Matthew 25:23

1 Corinthians 2:9

In light of this message and discussion, what is your next step?
