The Heart of the Matter (Wk3)
Over the next 3 weeks, we are going to look at some very simply, yet very overlook biblical mandates as they attest to Prayer, Worship and Generosity. In a culture that yearns for personal overflow, we are going to look at the areas in the church where the common thought process is how little can I do to accomplish enough.

https://ratonfamily.churchcenter.com/givingGood Morning church… welcome back. I hope your week was worshipful and that your prayer life is growing. If we aren’t intentional in these things, it’s amazing how quickly time elapses and that is one commodity you don’t get back. You don’t get a second chance at time. The breath you just took… served a purpose, but you don’t get that time back.
So, I hope that there is a sense of intentionality in your walk with Jesus! He isn’t just the God of the past, nor simply the God of a better hope for tomorrow… He is the God of Yesterday, TODAY and Forevermore. Ergo, let’s engage him here and now!
Two weeks ago, we dealt with the Heart of the Matter in the subject of prayer.
- God longs to hear our prayers and we have a responsibility to teach the next generation how to pray.
Last week we dealt with the subject of Worship and the heart of the Matter is...
- It isn’t simply the song service, the location, the day, the church experience...The Heart of the Matter is that worship is our obedience to God because of our intense love for him and our awe of his saving grace.
Prayer and Worship… this is what we do because we are followers of Christ! We are Christians and what we do looks different! We aren’t in it for personal gain though God invites us into eternity with him. We are in this so that his Glory is shown!

Well today… I want to talk to you about the blessings of generosity.
When we follow Jesus -- He redefines what can be done with a little!
As Christ followers, we will lead the way with irrational generosity.
Scarcity Mindset: Consume --> Lack --> Fear --> (back to consume)
Abundance Mindset: Give --> Multiplies --> Faith --> (back to Give)
If you view life through the lens of scarcity, you will always be fearful and anxious. Jesus has a much different plan for you.

GIVE SPONTANEOUSLY
Sometimes issues arise and God has us in the right place to make a difference.

GIVE STRATEGICALLY
I can’t tell you how many times I have heard people say, “I wish I could give more”!
YOU CAN—if you plan for it!
A strategy for you:
1) Start with the tithe: I will give God my first and my best...
2) Plan
3) Stand Firm

CHURCH… WE ARE NOT SPIRITUAL CONSUMERS—WE ARE SPIRITUAL CONTRIBUTORS!!
GIVE SACRIFICIALLY
Though there are many places we can look in the word about sacrificial giving… We have a beautiful story in the Gospel of Mark
