BIG IDEA: Giving generously brings joy and freedom

PCC BENEDICTION
May you jump into the arms of Jesus.
And may He push you out into the world.
May you be healed as you participate in the healing of others.
Not because you must, but because you may.
This is why we were born!
May you jump into the arms of Jesus.
And may He push you out into the world.
May you be healed as you participate in the healing of others.
Not because you must, but because you may.
This is why we were born!
Beyond Sunday
The Book of Acts details the start of the early church. In this seven-week series, we will call ourselves to strive toward our six PCC values as we are inspired by those who did the same as they established the Church. And if we do so, both individually and corporately, we will experience freedom and become a part of His glorious movement in a needy world. This week we reflect on how Giving Generously can change our world.
1. With the big idea for the past Sunday being that Giving Generously Brings Joy (to giver) and Freedom (to the receiver). How have you seen this play out in your life or the life of another?
2. Review this common theme of Giving Generously found throughout God’s Word. What is the Spirit bringing to your attention in these passages? Deuteronomy 15:10, Psalm 37:21, 2 Corinthians 8:7, Romans 12:8
3. If Giving Generously involves giving of our abilities and resources, reflect on how this is declared in the Bible in this command of Moses (Deuteronomy 8:18) and actions of the Apostles (Acts 6:1-4, Acts 4:32-35). What does this say to you about God, abilities and resources?
4. In order to Give Generously, we need God’s kingdom perspective on abilities and resources, power motivated by His love, and a plan to carry it out. Which one do you need most in order to be a person who gives more generously? And specifically, what is He calling you to do?
5. Reflect on these passages 1 Corinthians 4:7, 2 Corinthians 9:7. Then, write or verbalize a prayer to God as a response.
