I Want To Serve

As a kingdom minded church, we believe that the ultimate fulfillment of our purpose is to be vessels of His grace; giving of ourselves just as He completely gave Himself up for us. The life of a Christ Follower is not about being a spectator for a couple of hours on Sunday. Rather, we open the flood gates of heaven when we sacrificially give of our talents and time.

The Apostles’ Creed is the oldest of all Christian creeds.
We see its formation between 150-175 A.D.
What the scriptures say at length, the Creed says briefly.

The Creed is not just a list of truths but also an act of worship and of prayer.
The best way to understand the Apostles’ Creed is to dig into the Bible.
I have no intention of preaching the creed, but using the creed to preach the Bible.

In striving to understand the Creed it helps us spot and avoid inadequate, false versions of Christianity that were not only unfaithful to the Bible, but also dangerous to our inner spirit.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body
and the life everlasting.
Amen.
I believe
These two words are among the most explosive words any human can utter.

To believe means trust.
To believe means commit.
To believe means obedience.

I BELIEVE VS. I KNOW
