A Sweet Aroma
2 Corinthians 2:14-17
Pastor Jerry Koller
A Pleasant Smell – In the New Testament, the word is used in three different ways:
The lives we live should be a sweet aroma, a fragrant aroma unto God.
Hindrances: It would be correct to say that there is one hindrance that hinders our spiritual fragrance. Sin.
· Sin is the cause of death – both physically and spiritually.
Getting Rid of Hindrances: Wash.
Making this spiritual application, Jesus, as He washed the feet of the Apostles shortly before he would be arrested, stated,
When we sin, we need to confess our sin to God.
· When we come to Christ, all our sin—past—present—and future—come under the blood and are forgiven.
· Confession is primarily for our sake.
· It is taking responsibility for our offense.
· It looks at sin from God’s perspective and acknowledges it for what it is so that repentance may take place.
· Confession and repentance is cleansing to our soul.
What to do With the Aroma—We must help others have a sweet aroma.
· What are your hindrances?
· Get rid of them. Wash up!
· Commit to getting others smelly with Jesus

Summer Camp Fundraiser
Expand
We are hosting a "take an envelope" fundraiser to support our future campers. There is a tree outside the sanctuary which has numbered envelopes. If you'd like to participate, then the number on the envelope that you pick is the amount of money you would like to donate. [Example: If you take the number 6, then you'll donate $6.] You can take as many envelopes as you'd like. And if all the envelopes are taken, then we will raise $5500 for future campers!! This would enable many of our students to bring a friend with them to camp - what an exciting way to possibly introduce someone to Jesus for the first time! Envelopes can be dropped in the offering bucket or mailed back to church. For questions, please contact Rob Zantello or the church office.
Annual Meeting: 1/16/2022
Expand
Our Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, January 16, immediately following the morning worship service. 2022 budget information will be emailed to all members by December 15. If you do not receive this via email, please let Kim know. Pastor Jerry is also putting together an Annual Report that will cover all ministries which will be emailed as well. We will not have a potluck after the meeting.
1. Approval of the 2022 budget.
2. Affirmation of the 2022 Elder Ministry Team (which is the same as 2021): Jason Avery, Brian Bocock, Steve Follman, Janette Hendrix, and Rob Zantello

New Women’s Study Begins
Expand
All ladies are invited to join a new Bible study beginning on January 12. The study will be held on Wednesday evenings beginning at 6:30 PM. Depending on what participants want to do, it will be in-person, online, or a hybrid of both. This group will be doing the study Elijah by Priscilla Shirer. Join this 7-session journey through the life and times of the prophet Elijah to discover how the fire on Mount Carmel was forged in the valley of famine. And how the emboldened, fiery faith you desire is being fashioned by God in your life right now. To sign-up or for questions, contact Tracy Marshall or the church office.
