4 lesser know Perspectives of Jesus Birth filled with UNCONTAINABLE JOY
#1 John the Baptist & Mom Elizabeth
The Simplicity of Sharing: The first thing humanity does with the News of Jesus is to GO TELL SOMEONE.
God is already moving; you just don’t know it yet!
#2 The Shepherds
#3 and #4 Simeon and Anna
Talk It Over
1. Which of the four perspective best represents you right now? Are you like John and Elizabeth full of deep joy when you consider Jesus? Or are you more stubborn like the shepherds and need a clear sign. Or are you more like Simeon and Anna who are waiting on God, but have no doubt he will show up.
2. Pastor Sean joked about how people don’t see themselves as evangelist, just like the shepherds we go out because we are overflowing with uncontainable joy and have to tell someone. Like Mary, the first thing we do is run to someone to share the Good News. What’s stopping you from being more of an evangelist and running to others with the Gospel? Who needs the Gospel in where you work, live, and play? Take some time and pray for them right now. God is already working. What step can you take this Christmas season to share the good news?
3. With it being a nostalgic Christmas, go back to that season right after you met Jesus for the first time. Who did you tell first and run to in excitement? How long was your passion for God on fire? How are things different today than back then? If you have lost some of that fire what would it take to get it back? If you are still on fire what advice would you give someone who is just starting out following Jesus?
