The true story surrounding Christmas is filled with mysteries and impossibilities. A virgin, receives a mystical visitation from a being that tells her that she has been chosen by God and that she will be overshadowed by the Holy Spirit of God, conceive a child and that that child will be great and save His people from their sins. A promised husband finds out she is pregnant and plans to quietly put her away but he also has a mystical angelic encounter where he is instructed from another realm what he should do. All of this very much not normal behavior that we read it as if it simply is. There entire story is filled with unbelievable impossibilities.

What impossible thing are you believing God for this Christmas?

Look with fresh eyes at a young girl with a mysterious visitor from another realm with a message that makes no sense to the natural mind. Look at all the impossibilities in this account. And the angelic visitor seals it all with the simple statement, “For nothing will be impossible with God.”

Mary’s response is key to me. She doesn’t say that she believes or that she understands. She simply says, “...Let it be to me according to your word.”

We don’t always have to understand how God will do something to believe He can.

Our response to the impossibilities in our lives must be to believe what God’s Word says and what His promises are toward us more than what the impossibility tells us. We have to come to the place where we believe that God can do anything!

Sometimes we get caught up in our impossibilities and can see no way out. But the limitations are only on our minds and not on God’s. Where we see just an ocean, He sees a dry road. When we see a river, He knows He can be the bridge. He can make a way where there is no way because with God, nothing is impossible.

Impossible is nothing with God.

Are there things that seem impossible in your life during this season? Do joy and peace seem only like silly sentiments? Is this really the most wonderful time of the year for you or is it the most stressful? Does the thoughts of having a holly jolly Christmas make you spit up a little? Yet, we are promised peace and rest when we come to the Lord. So how can you un-clutter yourself from the lie and find His truth?

What are you focused on?
There’s nothing wrong with seeing the impossible situation as long as you can see there is a great truth. That may take some un-cluttering. To only focus on the problem will never reveal the solution. Fix your eyes on Jesus. Remember your God is bigger than anything you are dealing with. No matter what you are facing, it still is not impossible with God.

What does God’s Word say?
Whatever the situation you are facing, you can find some hope and help from the Word. Maybe there isn’t an exact reference but there will be help found in the Word for whatever you are dealing with.

Who or what will you choose to believe?
Will you be like Mary and declare, “Let it be to me according to Your Word Lord!” Or will you choose to believe that things are simply impossible and nothing can change?

Un-clutter yourself from the lie and choose to believe the truth of God’s Word!

Jesus came to save us. He is able to help you by His Holy Spirit no matter what the impossibility is that you face. Un-clutter yourself from the lies and trust His truth!

Again I ask, what impossibility are you faced with this Christmas?
