The purpose of this devotional is to help prepare you fro the celebration of the birth of Jesus. You may do this as your own quiet time, but we would encourage you to gather some family or loved ones to go through it together.
A list of Christmas pet peeves: Impatient people when shopping, people saying Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas, gift wrapping, spoiled kids, or the ultimate pet peeve is people not showing up on time for Christmas events. God is always on time!

God was on time when Abraham needed a sacrifice. In Genesis 22, Abraham was told by God to take his only son Isaac and offer him as a sacrifice on the mountain. He and his son took the wood and the fire and headed to the region of Moriah. He reached the place, prepared the altar and placed his son on the altar. As he raised the knife to slay Isaac, he looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in the thicket. Abraham called the place, The Lord Will Provide. God was there, right on time!

This advent we celebrate the birth of our Savior, whom God sent on time, His only Son, to bring salvation, the forgiveness of sins and life eternal. Galatians 4:4, “But when the time had fully come (at just the right time) God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive the full rights as sons.” God is always “on time” to provide encouragement, peace, daily provisions, answers to our prayers, healing in a relationship, his comfort and much more. Give Advent worship to Jehovah-Jireh, God is the Provider!

By the way, if you show up late for Christmas events, you might be missing a great meal, Christmas worship, or the long awaited gift!
