Talk It Over
1. On a scale of 1 to 5, how blessed are you by God? In light of 80% of the world living on less than $3500/year, we are all truly blessed in America. But it goes much deeper than that. Acts 20:35 says, “It’s more blessed to give than to receive.” In other words, it’s a blessing to receive, but it’s more blessed to give. Describe how true that statement is in your own experience? Without using numbers, describe your “more blessed” strategies or patterns in your life.
2. Diane cited scientific data on the effects of gratitude and generosity? What stuck out to you most about that study? How true has that been in your life?
3. Read 2 Corinthians 9:6-11. Diane said, “Many people are looking for a harvest they never planted!” What advice would you give someone who was reaping sparingly towards God? What steps did you take to be where you are in your generosity today?
4. Diane said, “When you are generous people will thank God for you.” If you give to charity, what people do you believe have thanked God for your gifts or you would hope are impacted for Christ?
