The song O Come, O Come Emmanuel was written by John Mason Neale in the mid-1800s.
O come, O come, Emmanuel,
And ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here,
Until the Son of God appear.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
Prophecy: Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14
Fulfillment: Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Matthew 1:23

May you jump into the arms of Jesus and may He push you out into the world. May you be healed as you participate in the healing of others. Not because you must but because you may. This is why we were born!

BEYOND SUNDAY
Advent is a time to prepare our hearts and souls to celebrate the extraordinary birth of Jesus that has blessed the world. During our Advent series, Together We Sing, while integrating our year-long theme of Together We Are PCC, we will focus on key Scriptures and known songs of the season that point us toward our Savior, Christ, who brings us Hope, Peace, Love, Joy, Light, and Faith. This week we focus daily on Hope and the song, O Come, O Come Emmanuel.
Monday: Play and reflect on the song O Come, O Come Emmanuel.
Tuesday: Meditate on Isaiah 7:14. Attempt to memorize it. What word(s) stand out the most? What does it make you think of? How do you feel about God being with you always?
Wednesday: Read through these various prophecies and their fulfillments about the birth of Jesus. Which one amazes you the most?
Isaiah 9:6-7 -- fulfillment Revelation 19:16
Hosea 11:1 -- fulfillment Matthew 2:14–15
Micah 5:2 -- fulfillment Matthew 2:4–6
Luke 1:78 -- fulfillment Luke 2:6
Thursday: What doubts or lack of hope do you need to bring to God? Write a prayer to God. Ask Him to help you with your unbelief. Ask Him to bring back your wonder and awe about the birth of Jesus.
Friday: Throughout the day use your breath as a reminder that God is with you. Breathe in and out the word: Emmanuel.
Saturday: Pray for others you desire to come to know the Hope of Christ.
