Marriage One Night Event
Expand
Marriage One Night Event, On Friday, December 3, from 5:30-7:00pm, Royal Redeemer is hosting another Marriage Event! It’s easy to get overwhelmed with the messiness of marriage...all the scary stats, all the sad stories. But we believe marriage doesn’t have to be complicated, exhausting, or full of endless to-do lists. It can start with just one thing.
That’s what we’ll be discussing in our upcoming marriage event on Friday, December 3.
Also, that same night we are having a “Drop and Shop” with our High School students providing childcare for parents to get some holiday shopping done or attend a marriage event and go on a date!
The cost of the event is $20 and it’s all going toward the National Youth Gathering.
All you have to do to register for the event and the childcare is sign up in the Commons or online by clicking here: https://www.royalredeemer.org/events/marriage-one-day-event/

What crazy thing have you done for love?
Last week Pastor Ben, in his sermon concluding our journey through "The Story" mentioned that "God turns periods into commas". The Bible tells us the things God did in the past to accomplish His will in and through the people on earth. But He's not done yet. He turns the periods at the end of those events into commas as He continues to accomplish His will and work in and through us. That made me think of the 3 week sermon series we are beginning today that is tied in with our 2022 pledge campaign "The Things we do for Love". Today we focus on Jacob and Rachel.
Jacob's father Isaac sent him on a 500 mile journey to find a wife from among His mother's relatives in Paddan Aram. He found Laban, his mother's brother, and his daughter Rachel.
To an outsider it might have seemed to be a crazy thing for Jacob to work 7 years to gain Rachel's hand in marriage, but it wasn't to Jacob because of his love for Rachel. But then Laban fooled him and switched daughters on the wedding night and Jacob ended up working 7 more years for Rachel. But he did it because of his love for her.
At the core of our faith is a crazy love story. God creates people, loves them, provides for them and calls them to be faithful, but they aren't faithful. His heart is broken but he still loves them. Finally, He says, "I was faithful, but you weren't. So, it's time for a new agreement." He sends His one and only Son into a hostile world to be killed and pay the price for the sin of the world. Then raises Him from the dead and says that whoever looks on the Son in faith, believing that He paid the price for their sin, will be reonnected with God and will spend eternity with Him. To an outsider that may seem crazy as Paul tells us in 1 Cor. 1: 18.
The things that God did for love motivates us to do the things we do for love!

Heart Question

Each week during the Pledge Campaign we will be asking you to answer a question and write it on a heart to be placed on the board in the Commons. This week the heart question is, "What is One Thing You Love about Royal Redeemer?" You can either fill out a heart in-person in the Commons or do it electronically by clicking the following link.

God turne periods into commas, as He continues His work loving others through us, as we do the things we do for love.
