Unstoppable (Wk1)
Over the next 6 messages, we are going to examine the remarkable spread of the gospel and the kingdom of God from Jerusalem, to Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the world. Jesus has commissioned every one of his followers to be his witness by the power of the Holy Spirit. Despite challenges from outside and within, the kingdom of God continues to advance. Today, we continue to be his witnesses and have a vital role in the continuing story of Jesus’s unstoppable kingdom.

It’s his Grace in action and His Spirit within us that makes His kingdom continue forward!
Just this last few weeks, I have mentioned the scripture
Acts 2:38 NLT
38Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Now obviously this pertains to being baptized, but the verse ends with… “then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit!”
Now, the Holy Spirit is not a bird. He is the 3rd person of the trinity and he dwells in us as Christ followers. But before I get ahead of myself… let’s pray, then jump into the word.

Thought:
Now this is a personal belief, but I truly believe that though your value doesn’t change based on who you are or what you do for the Kingdom of God, your influence is in direct proportion to your surrender.

Walking on Water
Thought: Jesus reveals his lordship over creation by walking on water toward his disciples.

Application: What does that mean for us?
We will allow Jesus to show his lordship in our lives.

Calming the Storm
Thought:Jesus shows his lordship by calming the storm and revealign to his disciples their lack fo faith in his love and divinity.

1) Power comes from the Holy Spirit!
There is a difference between having the Holy Spirit and being filled with the Holy Spirit.
2) The Purpose is to be a witness.
3) The plan is to impact the world for the glory of God.
Application Point:
We can confidently and courageously be witnesses of Jesus by understanding the power, purpose, and plan of the mission God has entrusted to each of us.
