1. We are called to be peacemakers.

3. Those who resist God’s authority and ordinances will be punished.

Authorities are to recognize they are under God’s authority and must therefore follow His laws and limit themselves to the realm God has assigned.
4. God’s purpose for government is to support what is good and oppose what is evil.
5. To empower government to suppress wickedness, God gave it the sword as coercive power.
6. Because it has coercive power, civil government is always a danger to exceed its God-given assignment and role.
7. We must obey the Higher Authority.
8. The Highest Authority is God. We owe Him total obedience alone.
