You meet your 18-year-old self. You’re allowed to say three words. What do you say?

Begin your study with prayer
Pause for a few minutes to quiet your heart and mind. Ask God for insight and direction as you study and reflect on this week’s lesson.

1. Describe a time you needed comfort.

2. What enabled Paul to rejoice when he faced problems and trials? See also Romans 5:3-5; John 16:33; James 1:2-4.

3. What’s one way God has worked in your life as a result of a struggle or difficult season?

4. What are ways to share God’s comfort with others?

5. What does it mean to have integrity?

6. What do you think Paul’s opponents were saying about his motives?

7. Can you think of a time you encountered rejection while serving someone? How did that affect you?

8. How does having a clear conscience provide confidence? Have you experienced this? Explain.

9. Have you ever had a difficult time offering forgiveness? How did it impact your relationship with God?

10. How does unforgiveness make you susceptible to the schemes and attacks of Satan?

11. Paul demonstrates what it looks like to stand firm in the faith. Based on this week’s lesson, what’s one way you could follow his example?
