I Want To Serve

As a kingdom minded church, we believe that the ultimate fulfillment of our purpose is to be vessels of His grace; giving of ourselves just as He completely gave Himself up for us. The life of a Christ Follower is not about being a spectator for a couple of hours on Sunday. Rather, we open the flood gates of heaven when we sacrificially give of our talents and time.

4 viewpoints on divorce and remarriage:
-Divorce is not permitted under any circumstance
-Divorce and remarriage are permitted under any circumstance
-Divorce is permitted under certian circumstances, but remarriage is never permitted
-Both divorce remarriage are permitted under certain circumstances

During Jesus’ day the dominate position on divorce, and remarriage was the most liberal of the four views. Divorce on any grounds. The only requirement was the giving of a certificate of dismissal.

God recognized and permitted divorce under certain circumstances when it was accompanied by a certificate, but He did not thereby condone or command divorce. God’s permission for divorce was but another accommodation of His grace to Human sin.
Jesus rebuke of the religious leaders of his day is that by lowering God’s standards to meet your own, you have led many people into sin and judgment.

Sexual immorality “Porneia” incest, prostitution, homosexuality, adultery, and bestiality.

Desertion
Paul adds a second exception, in instances where an unbelieving spouse abandons the marriage. This would typically be the case when one of the two partners is converted to Christ at some point after marrying and the other person refuses to continue in the marriage
