"King's Church - Part 4"

Foundation Text: Acts 2:43-47 TPT

Introduction
The church is not an iPhone with fully customizable preferences, it’s not the iChurch or eChurch. The church is a group of people, lots and lots of who come together to know and worship Jesus. It’s not an iChurch, not an eChurch, but a WeChurch. That’s what we see in Acts, it introduces us to the first ever church plant. As we look at it, they’re a community of believers doing life together.

If an iChurch and an eChurch is about “me” and “my” preferences, then a WeChurch is about Christ and His preferences. He’s given us an example of what he’d like to see in Acts. So let’s look at what those are, which tell us how to do life together.

Why did the King start the church?

What was the king’s purpose for the church?

How does the King want us to operate within the church?

Who is the church?

We see when the church started there was Synergy, unity and harmony amongst the people where they were giving not owning anything and on one accord

Accord = homothumadon
Homo = Same Thymos = Passion

Accord: ____ mind, unanimously, same passion, having the same desire.

Its clear we are not all on one accord, and instead of looking strong and unified and truly being a wechurch its more of a weakchurch.

Jesus is the head of the church the King of the church and contrary to popular belief Jesus didn’t come to bring Christianity a denomination or just a building.

Quite the contrary Jesus came to bring a Kingdom. - Luke 4:43

Jesus came to bring a kingdom. While the church isn’t the kingdom it is a major piece to building his kingdom.

On this rock I will build _____ church”

The word my insinuates that there are others…

There are other churches being built instead of his church!!!

Ecclesia: a group or body of people called _____ for some particular ________.

Called out of the system into another system

Roman Ecclesia refers to a governmental assembly composed of cabinet members (secretaries or ministers) that was around the KING.

You can go to church and never be apart of the church. - Hebrews 10:23-25

It can't just be the Word that keeps you at a church.

99% of the people that say that and leave are NOT connected to the church that’s in the church building. No involvement outside of Sunday, No small groups, no dream team, no bible studies, not helping lead a program.

It’s the church body that keeps you connected.

Satan entered and he went to a religious group of people a group of people that Jesus didn’t ordain. He went to religion

Religion is trying REACH God and his ways through human concepts and ways but that will always disappoint.Religion is trying REACH God and his ways through human concepts and ways but that will always disappoint.

Judas decided to betray Jesus in the absence of the multitude.
apart from, no longer connected, to the multitude this multitude was the disciples followers of Christ

We will never REACH the goal of the king unless we STAY together.
