1. Jealousy kills (vv. 1-9)
When we don't see ourselves as created in God's image, exactly the way He wants us to be, we attempt to elevate ourselves by devaluing others.
James 3:14 tells us that when we are jealous of others, it leads to more and more sin.
If we spend our time focused on comparing ourselves to others, it is a guarantee for an unhappy life.
2. Character counts (vv. 10-22)
An excellent spirit was in Daniel - good attitude, great abilities, and in personal connection with a great God!
Daniel never compromised out of fear of others.
The source of Daniel's strength was in his devotion.
2 Chronicles 16:9
3. God IS (vv. 23-28)
Our God is the God who saves and is faithful to the faithful (Psalm 18)
God is a jealous God - zeal, passion, ferver
Our response to God is a healthy fear. Grow into holiness and run TO HIM!
