We welcome Rev. Brian Johnson to our pulpit this morning. He is the Executive Minister of our region, the American Baptist Churches of Michigan. Brian is a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University and Northern Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned a Master of Divinity. Prior to his appointment as the Executive Minister of ABC-MI he was an Associate Pastor in Illinois for 5 years and Senior Pastor of Crossroads Community Church in Stockbridge, MI for over 15 years where he led a significant turnaround. In recent years, Rev. Johnson also served as a Region Board member and a Contract Consultant for ABC-MI; which is where God began to birth in his heart a vision for seeing an entire region of churches realize a transformative experience that causes the Kingdom of God to be manifest. He and his wife, Erika, have two daughters, Eliana and Elisabeth. In his spare time, he enjoys investing in the lives of young men by coaching high school boys basketball in his community.

Nursery Helpers Needed

We hope to open our nursery starting in August. Volunteers are needed. For safety and accountability purposes, we need two servants in the room each week, so the more people we have who are willing to help, the less often each person needs to do it. Background checks are required. If you’re willing to serve in this manner, please contact Kim in the church office as soon as possible.

Benevolent Fund Update

As of 7/1, contributions to this fund are no longer be tax deductible. Please see Pastor Jerry’s letter that was emailed on 6/22 or check it out on our website for further details.
