- The Bible is the most sold - and ironically most shoplifted - book of all time.
- It isn’t actually just 1 book like we have it today. The Bible is a compilation of 66 different books that were written over the span of 1,600 years on 3 different continents from 13 different countries in 3 different languages by more than 40 authors from diverse backgrounds, such as shepherds, warriors, kings, fisherman, doctors, musicians, and farmers. It was written everywhere from fields to palaces to dungeons.
- The Bible is written in 100% congruity, meaning not one passage of Scripture contradicts each other.
- There is more evidence for the authenticity of the Bible than any other ancient book in any other religion. In fact, there are 66,362 pieces of early literature providing evidence of the preservation of the Bible, which is about 60,000 more than any other historical text for any other philosopher or book for any other religion.
- It has survived through countless rulers trying to wipe it from the face of the earth and has even grown in popularity the more people try to destroy it.
- The Bible covers topics like marriage, divorce, re-marriage, adultery, sex, lust, greed, guilt, materialism, heaven, hell, hope, healing, peace, leadership, caring for the poor, handling wealth, and a hundred other topics.
- And yet it all comes together as one literary masterpiece with one central theme – the redemptive plan for mankind through Jesus. People have sacrificed their jobs, their families, some have even sacrificed their lives so we could have this book.

If you want to fall more in love with Jesus,
you have to fall more in love with the Word.
you have to fall more in love with the Word.
Without the ‘we become a lot like the Pharisees, having all the information
but none of the transformation.
but none of the transformation.
A goal without a plan is a wish.

· Find a reading plan that works for you – a plan that will give you a clear direction and purpose. (Help you read things that you wouldn’t usually read)

20 minutes of reading Scripture
20 minutes of journaling
20 minutes of praying
· Pick a key verse out of the day’s reading to spend more time studying
· Don’t make your applications general. They need to be accompanied by specific and direct steps you can put into practice today to be obedient to the revelation of Christ.
· Try doing your reading plan with a spouse, roommate, or friend. Then, discuss the text you read.

Bible Study 201
· Understand the book culturally from the Bibles point of view. Start by searching the rest of the Bible for any other mention of the place or person you are about to study.
· Use different tools like commentaries. Commentaries and Bible dictionaries help you understand the cultural context based on other historical sources they consult.
· Outline the book chapter by chapter
· Read the biblical book looking for major themes and points that the author emphasizes. Searching for repetition is a good way to discover emphasis.
· Conduct word studies. Word studies become “very important” to understanding context and culture
· Come back to context. Context allows you to effectively pick the proper passages of Scripture when ministering to others.
· Application. Find out how you can live differently as a result of what you’ve just learned.
