Jeremiah 6:16

In Jeremiah 25:3-13, Jeremiah speaks the word of God.

Jeremiah 25:3-12

Jeremiah 25:13

he was called by God in Jeremiah 27:1-15.

Jeremiah 27:1-10

Jeremiah 27:11-15

Matthew 11:25-26

"All thing have been handed over to me by my Father..."

Matthew 11:27a
"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

Similar to the Israelites in Jeremiah's day, heavy laden by the impending exile to Babylon
"Take my yoke upon you..."

God commissioned Jeremiah to wear a yoke of slavery to foretell judgment; Jesus calls His people to wear a yoke of slavery to foretell salvation.
"And learn from me for I am gentle and lowly in heart..."

Nebuchadnezzar was a foolish king whose pride was his ultimate downfall. But Jesus is a better king than Neb; He is humble and gentle with us even though we don't deserve it.
"And you will find rest for you souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Allusion to Jeremiah 6:16:
Unlike Nebuchadnezzar, Jesus does not force his subjects to wear a yoke of slavery, He wears it for us and carries our dead weight.

Jeremiah 6:16

Jeremiah 26:13-15

Give Online

Church family, we praise God for how faithfully in so many respects you give. Our church family is undeniably generous, but we still have great needs for supplication. We ask that you give joyfully, faithfully and sacrificially in response to how our great God and Savior has given to us.
