CONVERSATION STARTERS
Conversation Starters help us dig deeper, connecting Sunday’s sermons with our Monday lives. These prompts have been designed to help Community Groups grow in their relationship with God, with one another, and with their neighbors. Please know that these questions are meant to be a resource to you. You do not have to follow them verbatim or get through them all. We trust you to know your group and to ask the questions based on your group needs.

1. What stood out to you from the sermon?

2. Read Philippians 3:12-14. Paul uses the metaphor of running a race for the Christian life. Why do you think that is, and how does it instruct us in how we follow Jesus?

3. What does it mean that grace is not opposed to effort, it is opposed to earning? How might you make the error of trying to earn your salvation on the one hand, or the error of not striving in your faith on the other hand?

4. Who are the people in your life that you are imitating? What end are they racing toward? Who is imitating you and where are you leading them?

PRAYER PROMPT
Slowly read Philippians 3:20-4:1. Take a minute to silently contemplate these words. Spend time thanking our God for this hope that we have and praying for one another, that this hope will enable you to stand firm.
