God Speaks: Christ and His Word are the Fullest Word – Hebrews 1:1-4
I. Hearing God means listening to what he’s already said.

TWO LIES ABOUT GOD -
There’s a movement in modern thinking that says two false things:
1. God didn’t mean what he said.
2. God DID mean what he said, but these are different days and even He has to evolve.
II. Hearing God demands I stop living in fear of others – 1 Kings 19:1-2
- God’s voice is to be found in His Word. It is still the final Word and it doesn’t change or evolve.

- God’s voice will compel me toward service, not to being served.

- God’s voice will probably NOT be popular, nor should I expect it to be.
III. Hearing God’s voice requires I stop talking – 1 Kings 19:9-12
IV. Hearing God compels me to surrender my own direction in favor of HIS! 1Kings 19:15
- My path seeks ease – His voice calls me to transformation.

- My path seeks comparison to others – His voice compels me to sanctification.

- My path seeks immediate gratification – God’s voice compels me toward a fulfilled gratification later – in Heaven.
V. How can I tune my ears to hear His voice?
- Begin with confession.
- Ask God for clarity.
- Spend time in God’s word and with His people.
- Be patient in the waiting as you listen.
- Be ready for action when God speaks.
