Equipped to Lead: Treasures

Equipped to Lead: Treasures

Do you feel “Equipped to Lead?” In this teaching series we will celebrate our past while looking toward an even better future. A big piece of this future is equipping our church as a whole to lead in our most important relationships with increasing confidence. We want to lead ourselves spiritually, lead our marriages toward greater health, and lead our children towards God. We don’t want to just consume a Sunday morning. Instead we want to maximize what God has given, to steward gifts, resources, families, and influence He has entrusted to us.

2. An open-handed relationship with money inspires Christ-like joy.
3. An open-handed relationship with money glorifies God.
LifeGroup Discussion Questions

1. What are a few of the treasures God has asked you to steward?

2. Read the following passages. What do they affirm about God’s glory and His ownership of all things? Deuteronomy 10:14; 1 Chronicles 29:11, 12; Psalm 24:1-2; 50:10-12; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.

3. How does this influence and inspire open-handed stewardship?

4. What emotions arise as you read the story of the generous, impoverished, widow in Luke 21:1-4? Have you known such a person?

5. Why do we want financial prosperity? Contrast that with 2 Cor. 9:11, and why God would grant us financial riches.

6. Read 1 Timothy 6:3-11. In addition to generosity, what other values are threatened by covetousness?

7. Pray that God would really move in our church to prompt us to be open-handed stewards of all He has given.
