This week we conclude our Road to Easter series where we have been looking at the interaction Jesus had with people he was with, or encountered, on his travels in the days leading up to, and just after, his crucifixion. Today we will look at the two men Jesus met on the Road to Emmaus and see what we can learn from their encounter.

Luke 24:13
That same day two of Jesus' followers were walking to the village of Emmaus, seven miles from Jerusalem. (NLT)

Luke 24:14-15a
And they talked together of all these things which had happened. So it was, while they conversed and reasoned,…(NKJ)
Luke 24:15-16
So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them. But their eyes were restrained, so that they did not know Him. (NKJ)
Luke 24:18
Then one of them, Cleopas, replied, "You must be the only person in Jerusalem who hasn't heard about all the things that have happened there the last few days." (NLT)
Luke 24:19a
And He said to them, "What things?"
Luke 24:19b
So they said to Him, "The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, (NKJ)
Luke 24:20
and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death, and crucified Him.
Luke 24:21
"But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, today is the third day since these things happened. (NKJ)


Luke 24:22-24
Yes, and certain women of our company, who arrived at the tomb early, astonished us. "When they did not find His body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said He was alive. “And certain of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said; but Him they did not see." (NKJ)
