54 Sundays since we've gathered together!

And the one sitting on the throne said, "Look, I am making everything new!" Revelation 21:5

What is the new thing that Jesus is wanting to do in and around us today?

Transitioning is hard
New wine needs new wineskins

Jesus was here to do something completely new.
--A different structure was needed - no longer the 613 rules and ways of Judaism

Our world is changing!
--Will we embrace the new wineskin needed as a community to grow in spiritual depth and our influence in the city?

What will be the new wineskin for:
--Gather - fueling us for the rest of the week
--Grow - prioritizing Christ-likeness
--Give - giving God our first and best
--Go - investing cross-culturally

What will be the new wineskin for:
--Corporately - PCC
--Personally
--Both - What am I struggling to release?
PCC BENEDICTION
May you jump into the arms of Jesus and may He push out into the world. May you be healed as you participate in the healing of others. Not because you must, but because you may. This is why we were born!
BEYOND SUNDAY
How should the world view the church? Unfortunately, we've got to own the fact that we’ve created a brand for the church that Jesus never intended. But we have the opportunity to give everyone a Brand: New perspective. In this 3-part series, Brand: New, we will look at how we can return Christianity to the hope-filled, life-giving brand Jesus intended.

1. Have you ever had to let go of or give up something in your life? What was that like for you?

2. According to this week’s speaker, Pastor Gary Gaddini, when Jesus walked the earth, He continuously invited people into a life of flourishing, but it entailed leaving their old ways and trusting Jesus to step into a new way of living. No follower of Jesus ever had it both ways--they had to leave the old to embrace the new. How do you typically deal with change? Do you embrace it, resist it, or struggle with it? Is it OK to wrestle with God about it?

3. Read Luke 5: 36-38. Drawing from this passage and Gary’s personal example growing up in a family of winemakers, talk about the use and importance of new wineskins in the storing and fermentation of wine.

4. What spiritual application can you draw from these verses? The new teaching from Jesus is based on G_ _ _ _. It cannot be contained within the old form of the L_ _ . How did the people react to this new teaching that they didn’t see coming? How do people today react to the Good News?

5. See Hebrews 13: 8. What does this verse tell us? While the Lord never changes, our times have certainly changed in many ways, and in some cases exposed the inadequacy of our methods to grow. Will we embrace the new wineskins needed to grow spiritually, support our kids and teens as we saw last week from Pastor Danny, and have an impact within our community and world? What Pre-COVID wineskin do we need to let go of in order to embrace the new?

6. As we relaunch, we can learn a great deal from looking at how the early Church embraced new wineskins. See Acts: 42-47. How did living under grace and letting go of the law affect how they:
1. Gathered?
2. Grew?
3. Gave?
4. Went into the community and the world?
