Sermon Notes, March 21, 2021
If you travel to Jerusalem, you can visit at least two locations that purport to be the site where Jesus was crucified. They both have a pretty good claim, and they are both fascinating sites to see. But the truth is, the *location* where Jesus died is far less important than the *reason* Jesus died. That is the matter before us in Matthew 27:45-54. In these verses, Matthew describes seven witnesses to the death of Jesus – three before He died and four immediately after. These witnesses help us better understand both Who Jesus is and why Jesus died.
