LOVE LIFTED ME

[Verse 1]
I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore,
Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more;
But the Master of the sea heard my despairing cry,
From the waters lifted me, now safe am I.

[Chorus]
Love lifted me! Love lifted me!
When nothing else could help, Love lifted me!
Love lifted me! Love lifted me!
When nothing else could help, Love lifted me!

[Verse 2]
All my heart to Him I give, ever to Him I’ll cling;
In His blessed presence life, ever His praises sing.
Love so mighty and so true merits my soul’s best songs;
Faithful, loving service, too, to Him belongs.

[Verse 3]
Souls in danger, look above, Jesus completely saves;
He will lift you by His love out of the angry waves.
He’s the Master of the sea, billows His will obey;
He your Savior wants to be, be saved today.

I STAND AMAZED (HOW MARVELOUS)

[Verse 1]
I stand amazed in the presence
Of Jesus the Nazarene
And wonder how He could love me,
A sinner condemned, unclean.

[Chorus]
Singing: How marvelous, how wonderful
And my song shall ever be;
How marvelous, how wonderful
Is my Savior’s love for me.

[Verse 2]
He took my sin and my sorrow,
And He made me His very own;
He bore the burden to Calvary,
And suffered and died alone.

[Chorus X2]
Singing: How marvelous, how wonderful
And my song shall ever be;
How marvelous, how wonderful
Is my Savior’s love for me.

[Verse 3]
When with the ransomed in glory
His face I at last shall see.
‘Twill be my joy through the ages
To sing of His love for me.

[Chorus X2]
Singing: How marvelous, how wonderful
And my song shall ever be;
How marvelous, how wonderful
Is my Savior’s love for me.

BUILD MY LIFE

[Verse]
Worthy of ev’ry song we could ever sing.
Worthy of all the praise we could ever bring.
Worthy of ev’ry breath we could ever breathe,
We live for You.
Jesus, the name above ev’ry other name.
Jesus, the only one who could ever save.
Worthy of ev’ry breath we could ever breathe,
We live for You, oh, we live for You.

[Chorus]
Holy, there is no one like You, there is none beside You.
Open up my eyes in wonder.
Show me who You are and fill me with Your heart and lead me
In Your love to those around me.
Holy, there is no one like You, there is none beside You.
Open up my eyes in wonder.
Show me who You are and fill me with Your heart and lead me
In Your love to those around me.

[Bridge]
I will build my life upon Your love, it is a firm foundation.
I will put my trust in You alone, and I will not be shaken.
I will build my life upon Your love, it is a firm foundation.
I will put my trust in You alone, and I will not be shaken.

[Chorus]
Holy, there is no one like You, there is none beside You.
Open up my eyes in wonder.
Show me who You are and fill me with Your heart and lead me
In Your love to those around me.

[Bridge]
I will build my life upon Your love, it is a firm foundation.
I will put my trust in You alone, and I will not be shaken.

BE THOU MY VISION

[Verse 1]
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art\
Thou my best thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

[Verse 2]
Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord:
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son,
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

[Verse 3]
Riches I heed not, or man’s empty praise,
Thou mine inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of heaven, my treasure Thou art.

[Verse 4 ]
High King of heaven, my victory won,
May I reach heaven’s joys, O bright heav’n’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

RESOLVING TO BE RIGHTEOUS INSTEAD OF RIGHT

III. Paul's Rescue and Encouragement
R Kent Hughes explains:
“This was one of the darkest nights of Paul’s life. For years he had hoped to give fruitful witness in Jerusalem. But when he arrived, he found a com-promising church full of legalistic believers who held him suspect because of his contact with Gentiles. Now his hopes of convincing the leadership of his people had gone up in smoke as well. His dreams of effective testimony to the Jews lay in ashes at his feet, and his vision for successful witness in Rome began to fade too.
“Paul’s heart ached. He was physically, emotionally, and spiritually tired. Even the most optimistic person can experience a low after a battle (consider Elijah), and Paul was in the depths. As he sat in Antonia he was utterly humiliated—alone, dejected, dispirited… What would Christ do for Paul in such a valley?”

HAVE THINE OWN WAY, LORD

[Verse 1]
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Thou art the Potter, I am the clay!
Mold me and make me After Thy will,
While I am waiting, Yielded and still.

[Verse 2]
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Search me and try me, Master, today!
Whiter than snow, Lord, Wash me just now,
As in Thy presence Humbly I bow.

[Verse 3]
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Wounded and weary, Help me, I pray!
Power, all power Surely is Thine!
Touch me and heal me, Savior divine.

[Verse 4]
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Hold o’er my being Absolute sway!
Fill with Thy Spirit Till all shall see
Christ only, always Living in me.
