CONVERSATION STARTERS
Conversation Starters help us dig deeper, connecting Sunday’s sermons with our Monday lives. These prompts have been designed to help Community Groups grow in their relationship with God, with one another, and with their neighbors. Please know that these questions are meant to be a resource to you. You do not have to follow them verbatim or get through them all. We trust you to know your group and to ask the questions based on your group needs.
1. What challenged you about theFormed.life this week?
2. Luke 19:2 tells us that Zacchaeus was a ‘chief tax collector and was rich.’ Zacchaeus was most likely infamous: well known but not for any positive reasons. Brainstorm who you would consider a “Zacchaeus” today.
3. People grumbled that Jesus chose to stay with Zacchaeus (Luke 19:7). What does this tell us about Jesus’ disposition and attitude, even toward those who oppress others?
4. If we are seeking to become like Jesus, in what ways does this confront our comfort with a “Zacchaeus” of today? What does it look like to accept the public stigma that comes with befriending sinners (see Isaiah 53:3)?
