Problem | We don’t realize how important others are to our spiritual health
Takeaway | We are family
Jesus’s true family consists of those who respond positively to him rather than those who are physically related to him. The story also suggests that being a part of Jesus’ family may require adjusting or even severing relationships with an earthly family. –J.A. Brooks
The verb translated “to take charge” means to arrest… Evidently they intended to seize Jesus and force him to return to Nazareth with them. –J.A. Brooks
…this is not simply a failure to follow Jesus, but a positive and offensive repudiation. –R.T. France

Spirit-controlled believers are to submit to one another, willingly serving others and being under them rather than dominating them and exalting themselves. –Hoehner
