Compassionate

Jesus expects His followers to show compassion and mercy to others.

LUKE 6:27-38

We can find an excuse for ignoring or discrediting people if we really want to. We may classify them as uneducated, too young, too old, or numerous other designations as a way to justify our mistreatment of them. In an effort to absolve ourselves of guilt, we place a title on them that puts them in some type of lesser-than-me grouping. Jesus operated differently. He loved all people, seeing them as worthy of His attention and help. He confronted His critics, showing them how to be compassionate in the process.

What makes some people harder to love than others? Can you disagree with them and still love them? Explain.

Reading Glasses for Kenya

Ministry: On-Board Ministry, Kenya

Purpose of Ministry: To train and equip pastors in Kenya to teach and preach God's Word and to minister to the people of Kenya.

Leaders: Dallas Turner and Dan and Tonya Trantham

Please drop off new or gently used reading glasses in the South Welcome Center dropbox for people in Kenya who cannot afford them. The glasses must be reading glasses as opposed to prescription glasses. Dallas said the people in Kenya regard these glasses as if they were gold.

Rotating Worship Schedule for Adult Bible Study Classes

We are asking each of our Adult Bible Study Classes to rotate to one of our designated remote worship areas (either the Gym or the LOFT) once per month during Worship Service times. This only affects the Worship Service times (8:30 and 11:00 a.m.) and does not affect your Sunday school class time or location. This rotation schedule allows for adequate social distancing during Worship Service times. Thank you for your support and cooperation.
