What has 2020 revealed about your faith?
What strengths? What weaknesses?
1. It starts with a God quake
What strengths? What weaknesses?
1. It starts with a God quake
Glory - (in Hebrew) means heaviness
--How "heavy" is God's glory to you?
James 2:19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that -- and shudder.
--Instead of God fitting into your agenda, Jesus and His Kingdom becomes your agenda.
2. Which leads to a self-quake
--How "heavy" is God's glory to you?
James 2:19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that -- and shudder.
--Instead of God fitting into your agenda, Jesus and His Kingdom becomes your agenda.
2. Which leads to a self-quake
--Isaiah experienced something searingly beautiful -- Jesus!
John 12:41 Isaiah said this because he saw Jesus' glory and spoke about him.
--Worship re-orients us
Psalm 96:9 Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before hm, all the earth.
--God's throne / fire is one of grace
3. And culminates in a world-quake!
--Are you placing conditions on your "yes" to God?
--God's agenda supersedes the previous urgent agendas
Seeing God as He truly is -- Moving from concept to reality -- Displaced EVERYTHING for Isaiah
What "king" of your life needs to die?
--God's agenda supersedes the previous urgent agendas
Seeing God as He truly is -- Moving from concept to reality -- Displaced EVERYTHING for Isaiah
What "king" of your life needs to die?
PCC BENEDICTION
May you jump into the arms of Jesus and may He push out into the world. May you be healed as you participate in the healing of others. Not because you must, but because you may. This is why we were born!

BEYOND SUNDAY
We kicked off the New Year on 1/3/21 with an inspirational message and challenge from our Lead Pastor, Gary Gaddini. May these questions help you reflect on your understanding of God and what He is calling you to in 2021.
1. What did 2020 reveal about your faith? What strengths? What weaknesses?
2. As we enter 2021, you may feel like some of the "earthly kings" that were our security or scaffolding have died or deteriorated (our finances, friends, health, etc.) in 2020. What have those things been for you?
3. Isaiah had a similar struggle back in the eighth century B.C. when his king, who provided security for Judah, had died. He learned that although Uzziah’s throne was empty, God’s throne was still occupied. Uzziah’s reign had ended, but God’s hadn’t. Reflect on the encounter Isaiah had with God in Isaiah 6:1-5. What did he see and hear? And why do you think Isaiah responded in the manner that he did?
4. The Hebrew word “glory” is a word that literally means “heaviness.” When talking about God’s glory, the sense is that compared to anything else, nothing is as weighty as God’s character and power, not even King Uzziah’s death to Isaiah nor our circumstances to us. But what easily becomes more weighter to you in your life than God?
5. Rabbinic tradition states that Isaiah was from a royal family. He was one of the elites. What we know from the book of Isaiah is that he was kinda an artistic, intellectual, and literary genius. But in the presence of God, he was re-oriented. That’s what worship does, it reorients you. Reflect on Isaiah 6:5-8. Do you see how true worship leads to confession and call in one’s life? How have you experienced this? What holds you back from it?
6. In the end, Isaiah’s “previous urgent” circumstances are no longer as weighty as God’s glory and agenda. The Glory of God has become his scaffolding and Isaiah wants to join God in bringing the Kingdom to earth. Revisit Isaiah’s yielding words to God’s question in Isaiah 6:8. The statement “Here am I” means “without condition.” What will you need to let go of and hold on to more in order to keep a renewed perspective like Isaiah as you walk into 2021? [maybe it is the words “Here I am. Send me!” or something else]
New Year’s Opportunities
