A Promised Home: The Prophecies of Christmas – Isaiah 9:2-7
I. We’ve known darkness - God gave us the light of deliverance to bring us home – v 2
We know what darkness looks like.
A light to lead the way home:
1. Deliverance came through an animal to provide clothing for them (Gen 3:21-22).
2. In Exodus 14, when he divided the Red Sea, God made a way.
3. In Numbers 20, in the wilderness when he provided the water, God made a way.
4. In the battle of Jericho (Joshua 6), God made a way.
5. In 1 Sam 17, when David stood before Goliath, God made a way.
6. In 1 Kings 18, when Elijah faced the prophets of Baal on Mt Carmel, God made a way.
7. In Nehemiah 1-2, God made a way to protect the city of Jerusalem.

II. God promised us joy in His victory. – v 3
Joy is a by-product of victory!
A Feast to remind them to be thankful!

III. In God’s glorious joy, God has given us victory to guide us home – v. 4-5
