Title: The Promise of Heaven
Scripture: John 14:1-7
Speaker: Ben Laur, BenL@ChristCommunityKC.org
>> The promise of heaven is a comfort on earth.
>> Three ways the promise of heaven comforts us now:
- We can endure any trouble.
- We can be welcomed home.
- We can know the way.
I am the way to God: I did not come
To light a path, to blaze a trail, that you
May simply follow in my tracks, pursue
My shadow like a prize that’s cheaply won.
My life reveals the life of God, the sum
Of all he is and does. So how can you,
The sons of night, look on me and construe
My way as just the road for you to run?
My path takes in Gethsemane, the Cross,
And stark rejection draped in agony.
My way to God embraces utmost loss:
Your way to God is not my way, but me.
Each other path is dismal swamp, or fraud.
I stand alone: I am the way to God.
- D. A. Carson, The Gospel according to John, The Pillar New Testament Commentary

Something to Eat Packing

Looking for a way to give back this season? We will be packing meals at the Olathe Campus for Something to Eat in a socially distanced, masked environment to help fight local hunger. Our meal packaging spots are full, but please consider donating to help us reach our goal of raising $3,000 to cover the cost of these meals. On our website you will find information about donating.

Mission Southside Tree of Hope

We have a great opportunity to bless our neighbors through Mission Southside’s Tree of Hope. There will be ornaments in the lobby starting November 22 with gift ideas that you can purchase for a child in need in our community. You can also purchase gifts from their Amazon list and ship them directly to Mission Southside.
These gifts will be collected for Mission Southside’s Christmas Store where under resourced parents are able to shop for their children. Please return your purchased, unwrapped gift to the church lobby by Sunday, December 13.
