About FM First Baptist
Expand
Flower Mound First Baptist has been making much of Jesus in the Timber Creek area for over 30 years. Every week we gather to magnify Christ in word & deed, mature as Christ-followers, and multiply and make disciples for Christ. Our garden is a living parable of the Good Gardener's work in and through us.

SONG LYRIC - God Is Able
Expand
God is able
He will never fail
He is Almighty God
Greater than all we seek
Greater than all we ask
He has done great things

Lifted up He defeated the grave
Raised to life our God is able
In His Name we overcome
For the Lord our God is able

God is with us
God is on our side
He will make a way
Far above all we know
Far above all we hope
He has done great things

God is with us
He will go before
He will never leave us
He will never leave us
God is for us
He has open arms
He will never fail us
He will never fail us

SONG LYRIC - Holy, Holy, Holy
Expand
Holy holy holy
Lord God Almighty
Early in the morning
Our song shall rise to Thee
Holy holy holy
Merciful and mighty
God in three persons
Blessed Trinity

Holy holy holy
All the saints adore Thee
Casting down their golden crowns
Around the glassy sea
Cherubim and seraphim
Falling down before Thee
Which wert and art
And evermore shalt be

Holy holy holy
Though the darkness hide Thee
Though the eye of sinful man
Thy glory may not see
Only Thou art holy
There is none beside Thee
Perfect in power
In love and purity

Holy holy holy
Lord God Almighty
All Thy works shall praise Thy name
In earth and sky and sea
Holy holy holy
Merciful and mighty
God in three persons
Blessed Trinity

BIG IDEA : No temptation is too great for prayer.
1. Pray for his power to lead you through.
2. Pray for his power through testing and temptation.
Tests
- Designed by God (Mt 4.1)
- Loving Father
- Response = Rejoice
- ‘Good’ = Constructive Purpose
Temptations
- Exploited by Satan
- Hungry Lion (1 Pt 5.8)
- Response = Resist
- ‘Ruin’ = Destructive Conclusion
Every temptation is an opportunity to love Jesus more.
3. Pray for his power to deliver you.
Opposition is normal (& necessary) for disciples.
What's Next?
Use God's exit strategy.
Life cannot put more on your plate than God himself can handle.
What he did for his Son then he does for his children today so watch and pray.
SONG LYRIC - How Great Is Our God
Expand
The splendor of the King
Clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice
All the earth rejoice
He wraps Himself in light
And darkness tries to hide
And trembles at His voice
And trembles at His voice

How great is our God
Sing with me
How great is our God
And all will see how great
How great is our God

And age to age He stands
And time is in His hands
Beginning and the End
Beginning and the End
The Godhead three in one
Father Spirit Son
The Lion and the Lamb
The Lion and the Lamb

Name above all names
Worthy of all praise
My heart will sing
How great is our God

Your Next Steps / /

Verse to Remember : Matthew 6.13, 'And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.'

Point to Ponder : No temptation is too great for prayer.

Question to Consider : As you pray, in what specific ways can you remind yourself that Christ has already won the war?

Give Here

As we say every week, giving is an act of worship. It’s how we acknowledge that God owns everything we have and that he has appointed us as stewards.
