Seeing What Jesus Saw: His Disciples
Mark 8:27-38
Jesus sees both our glorious victories and our stunning setbacks as we journey with him, and he continues to walk with us through it all. In this text we notice 4 aspects of Jesus’ conversation with his disciples and in this we See What Jesus Saw.

I. A good confession by his disciples: ‘You are the Christ!’
II. A clarifying explanation for his disciples: He began to teach them.
III. A stinging rebuke of his disciples: ‘Get behind me, Satan!’
IV. A necessary correction to all his would-be disciples: ‘If anyone would come after me…’
Conclusion: Seeing What Jesus Saw...
1. Jesus saw his disciples growing in their understanding of him and he celebrated it.
2. Jesus saw his disciples projecting their agenda onto him and he rejected it.
3. Jesus saw his disciples needing a teaching moment and he provided it.
