Satan’s favorite lies skew our perspective about sin.
Matt. 26:23-24
He replied, “One of you who has just eaten from this bowl with me will betray me. For the Son of Man must die, as the Scriptures declared long ago. But how terrible it will be for the one who betrays him. It would be far better for that man if he had never been born!”
Judas, the one who would betray him, also asked, “Rabbi, am I the one?”
And Jesus told him, “You have said it.”
Isaiah 59:2
It’s your sins that have cut you off from God.
Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen anymore.
How does Satan lie to us?
Hopelessness
Carelessness
1 John 1:8
If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.
God’s Truth: God made a way to deal with all of my past mistakes through Jesus.
1 John 1:9
But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
How does Jesus deal with us?
We must go to the heart of the issue
We can’t dwell on the wrong or keep scolding ourselves
We have to rest in the knowledge that He still has plans for us.
Satan’s favorite lies skew our perspective about sin.
We must go to the heart of the issue.
We can’t dwell on the wrong or keep scolding ourselves.
God's desire is to restore you to Himself and has provided EVERYTHING to forgive our past and then empower us to forgive others.
We have to rest in the knowledge that he still has plans for us.
