There was a lot about growing up in church that was one part interesting, a lot of parts terrifying.

The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is a person, not an “it.”
The Holy Spirit is a person who relates to us in person.
The Holy Spirit is a person, who relates to us in person, who indwells us when we personally accept Jesus.
When you decide to put your faith in Jesus, in the death and the resurrection of Jesus, you are forgiven for your sin, you're made right with God through your faith because the Holy Spirit comes into you and makes you right with God, makes you new, changes your life from the inside out.
For the first time, their life got really, really bright without Jesus standing beside them.
The Holy Spirit inside them was better than Jesus beside them.
The Holy Spirit inside you is better than Jesus beside you.
As a Jesus follower, you are literally a walking, breathing, temple of the Holy Spirit that indwells in you.
The same Spirit that brought Jesus back to life is alive in you.
It's amazing how often, as Christians, we walk around as if there's nothing in us.

What he meant, was that the Holy Spirit was alive and well in my heart … I just wasn't holding on to it.
The reality is that the Holy Spirit isn't just a New Testament thing. It's been around the whole time.
