The Way Forward: The Glory of the Cross and The Mark of a True Christian

Welcome to Grace Chapel! The Gospel is a message of liberation from the taskmaster of fear and distrust and the slavish drive to protect oneself. In Christ, God showed His extravagant, unconditional love for us and offers us an abundant life full of the fruit that truly and eternally satisfies. We don't have to obsessively look out for our own good any longer; we are freed to receive God’s love and care and give ourselves away to others.

God delights in showing ordinary people EXTRAORDINARY love, so
they can go and do the SAME.

Receive the power of God to RESIST the power of Satan. (vs. 20-30)
Love others without RESERVE, as God first loved you. (vs. 31-35).

Recognize your brokenness and act in HUMILITY. (vs. 36-38)
“Do not imagine that if you meet a really humble man he will be what most people call ‘humble’ nowadays: he will not be a sort of greasy, smarmy person, who is always telling you that, of course, he is nobody. Probably all you will think about him is that he seemed a cheerful, intelligent chap who took a real interest in what you said to him.”

The Glory of the Cross: God loved us deeply, so He sent His Son for us.

The Mark of a True Christian: We love others powerfully because we are loved deeply.
This Week I Will:

- Decide on a tangible way I can put another’s interests, desires and needs before my own and act on it.
- Read 2 Corinthians 5:17 and pray that God will show me a new way of living, free from selfishness and pride.
- Write a message to someone this week and tell them that they are deeply loved by God.
- (Men) Sign up to attend the Men’s BBQ on May 10 to learn more about my purpose to love and live like Christ.
