Nicodemus, impressed by Jesus’ authority and teaching, is searching for the truth about who Jesus is.

Jesus responds to Nicodemus’ prodding by stating that a rebirth is necessary to “see the Kingdom of God”.

Rebirth is only achieved through the working of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus rebukes Nicodemus, not for his ignorance, but for his unbelief.
