I grew up in a family with no spiritual life, but I knew there was a heaven and a hell. I remember vividly the times I was afraid to fall asleep because I was afraid I would go to hell if I died. I was right to be concerned: as Jesus said of himself, "Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God."
