How to Praise God During Hard Times (Hab. 3:17-19)
Sometimes my circumstances go from bad to worse. Then I’m asked to worship by faith, not by feeling. And I remember God’s strength is made perfect in my weakness.
When Circumstances go from Bad to Worse:
•See your hard times as controlled by God; they have a specific duration of time (Deut. 8:2a).
•See your hard times as a gift from God; they reveal areas for spiritual growth (Deut. 8:2b).
•See your hard times as intended for reliance on God; they humble you, so you can trust him (8:3)
•See your hard times as designed for the glory of God; they help you pursue God not pleasure (8:7)

Worship by Faith, not by Feeling:
•Persistent Discouragement: Have faith to persevere when you feel like quitting (Heb. 11:7)
•Potential Loss: Have faith to believe God’s promises when his commandments seem hard (Heb 11:17)
•Present Fear: Have faith that God is in control when you feel afraid (Heb. 11:23)
•Past Failure: Have faith to live for more than the things this world offers (Heb. 11:24-26)
