It's a Wonderful Life: Mary Hatch-Bailey/ Mary of Nazareth
"You really have a wonderful life, George. Don't you see what a shame it would be to throw it away?" These words from the classic Christmas movie still speak to us today in a world of disillusionment and pessimism. Join us this Christmas season as we celebrate the wonderful life we have received in Jesus!

Can you imagine?

This Christmas season can we see the classic story of Mary getting word that she will bring forth the savior of the world?
Mary:

a teenage girl from a small town in Galilee who is engaged to a carpenter will receive word that she is to birth Jesus.
You have found favor with God:

Isn’t it interesting that Mary has not done anything to this point and yet the angel says that you have found FAVOR with God. Favor in this passage simply means grace. You have been given grace. The gift of grace that is not earned.

We do not earn grace because of where we come from, our talents, or merit, our pedigree, how good we have been, our bank account, our zip code, we do not earn grace. It is Gods free and unmerited gift to us and we need only to receive the grace that he is offering to us.

Don’t be afraid, Mary, you have been given the free gift of grace!
I am the servant of the lord; Let it be to me according to your word:

Can we have the same heart to serve God as Mary did? Let this be the way we respond to the call of God in our lives.
