Sunday 10:30 AM

The day of judgment is one in which believers in Jesus enter into their eternal reward and those who have chosen not to believe in Jesus are eternally punished. The book of life is central to this judgment (Rev. 3:5; 20:12,15; 21:27).

For additional study: Exodus 32:32; Psalm 69:28; Daniel 12:1; Malachi 3:6; Luke 10:20; Philippians 4:3
The Opening of the Book of Life:
1. Reminds us that Jesus will Judge Justly and Completely: (2 Timothy 4:1; 1 Corinthinas 4:5; 2 Corinthians 5:10)

2. Determines Eternal Destiny for All People:
a. For those who have not believed in Jesus: (Ecclesiastes 12:14; Luke 12:2-3)
b. For those who have believed in Jesus (Romans 14:10,12; 1 Corinthians 3:12-15; Matthew 25:31-46)

3. Satisfies Our Desire for Justice – (Col.3:25) God will settle all accounts, sometimes he chooses to do so during our earthly time frame, but ultimately all sin will be accounted for.

4. Releases Us To Forgive Freely – (Rom. 12:19) We are to leave room for God to execute his perfect judgment. When we step in and try to secure judgment for ourselves we dismiss God’s involvement. (1 Peter 2:22-23; Luke 23:34; Acts 7:60)

5. Compels us to Live Righteously – (1 Peter 4:1-5; 2 Corinthians 5:11-21) Our love for all people is to reflect God’s love for all people (John 3:16-17), knowing that his delay in returning and setting into motion the events of the last days is out of a deep love for all people to enter into a relationship with him. (2 Peter 3:9; John 14:6)
For Next Week:
We will be concluding our series next Sunday, November 19th. However, as we do, would you be willing to share one thing that you have learned or one way the living out of your faith has changed as result of this study?

Lord willing, we'll be able to hear from you and others.
